Historic Conclave of Future Internists
The Internal Medicine Festival 2026 (IMF 2026), organized by the Dhaka Medical College Internal Medicine Interest Group (DMC IMIG) under the patronage of the American College of Physicians (ACP) Bangladesh Chapter, concluded with resounding success on 17 September 2026.
Convening over 1,000 delegates, undergraduate medical students, clinical interns, and senior Fellows of the ACP, the festival served as a vibrant hub of diagnostic curiosity, bedside reasoning, and scientific inquiry.
Festival Highlights
1. Inter-College MedQuiz ChampionshipQuiz Finals
Eighteen medical college teams from across Bangladesh battled through rigorous rounds covering complex electrocardiography, emergency toxicology, acid-base disorders, and rheumatological dilemmas. Dhaka Medical College team emerged as the champions in a thrilling sudden-death tiebreaker.
2. Scientific Research & Poster GalleryResearch
Over 40 peer-reviewed abstracts were showcased in the outdoor exhibition foyer. Research categories included endemic infectious diseases, dengue shock syndrome fluid hemodynamics, and cardiovascular risk stratification in young diabetic cohorts.
3. Faculty Keynotes & ACP RecognitionFaculty
Distinguished keynote speakers, led by senior ACP Fellows, emphasized the importance of returning to compassionate bedside physical diagnosis in an era of over-reliance on automated imaging.
